To check whether we have a particular book, please visit the Health Libraries Midlands (HeLM) catalogue, or use the Book tab on OmniSearch.
Can't find what you're looking for? We may have it available as an e-book, or you could use our request service to order a copy from elsewhere. If you're a Keele University student, you can also check the catalogue of Keele University.
Borrowing, renewing and returning items
Most members can have up to 16 items at any one time. The loan period for most items is 2 weeks or 6 weeks. Items are automatically renewed five times, unless someone else is waiting for them.
Manual renewals can be made in person, by telephone or by email, or you can use the renewal facility on the Health Libraries Midlands (HeLM) catalogue.
You can return items to a member of library staff, use the self-service terminal, or place in the Book Returns box. There is a Book Returns box outside the main entrance to the Shrewsbury Health Library, and one in the Education Centre common area at Princess Royal Hospital.
Books may also be returned to any Health Libraries Midlands (HeLM) library. You can also return items by internal or external mail (at your own risk).
Reserving items
You can reserve books that are on loan or on the shelf across Health Libraries Midlands (HeLM) libraries using the reservation facility on the Health Libraries Midlands (HeLM) catalogue.
We will hold reserved books for 14 days for collection (unless they are 7 day loans, in which care they are held for 7 days), or you can request that they are sent to your workplace.
